How To Choose Life – True Story!

I speak and write a lot about the Power Of Now. The Power of your Words and Actions. You can use the same methodology, techniques, strategy to live a long, happy, healthy and prosperous life.

Several years ago my brother was on the Liver Transplant list. How long it took him to move up to the top of the list is irrelevant as the point here is he kept getting sicker and weaker during this time period.

There were many rushes to the hospital and stays in ICU. Many times of experiencing the unknowing of life.

Then the day came when he received his phone call that they had a liver for him. We all rushed to the hospital in anticipation with hope and deep concern mixed.

He was scared no doubt about it. Laying there in the bed while waiting for them to come and get him for surgery realizing that might be his last few moments of life.

He told me later he was thinking thoughts like “I’ve had a good life. Two beautiful sons, wonderful love relationships, nice things to have in life…” He was making amends and peace with himself to leave this world and lifetime if it didn’t work. He was telling himself it was OK.

After what seemed like many hours they came and told him he could go home. The liver transplant they just did was successful and he was the backup patient in case something had went wrong.

There were a lot of emotions with that information. None of us knew anything about a backup patient especially my brother. We all left in the wee hours of the morning tired and disappointed that the liver was not for him.

More time goes by and he is gets sicker and weaker. More rushes to the hospital and the last one looked impossible. By now he wanted someone to meet with the life insurance people and setup the burial arrangements.

I STOPPED THIS. I knew if he did that he would be planning his own death as he would see it and the universe would give him what he was asking for. ( I did this for my dad and now I can See how I help my dad plan his own death.)

Another thing most people are not aware of is you can be too sick, ill health to be a transplant participant. The authorities choose people, bodies that are healthy enough to survive the surgery and looking for a 100% recovery.

We were not aware of that at the time and found out later that he was really to ill to be a transplant participant. He really wasn’t on the list anymore.

Beautiful synchronicities flowed that day in wondrous ways and many in which I have forgotten. However what I do remember about that day was a liver was being flown in to the hospital and since he was already there in the hospital they chose him.

During the surgery his blood pressure shot up and his heart was failing. It had to be really bad because one of the doctors asked, “Is our backup patient here?” At this time the liver was in but other things were not completed.

Unaware to everyone is the surgical room that day is my brother heard what the doctor said.

At that moment he said to himself “What the hell am I doing? I want to live!” You see, he had been a backup patient once and he knew what that meant.

A lot of things happened that day.

The major one is instead of bringing in the backup patient they put him in a semi-coma and sent him back to his room. Their idea with the semi-coma was to allow his body time to get his blood pressure stable and his heart back to normal.

He laid in that bed for 3 days barely conscious. During this period all of his vitals, blood pressure, heart rate and everything restored back to normal.

They took him back into surgery and completed the operation successfully.

My brother just celebrated his 6th year of a long happy and healthy life he has planned for himself!

I AM SO PROUD OF MY BROTHER!
